Welcome to life on MARS...

Hello and welcome to the Home Page for the MARS Project.

The Monuments at Risk Survey began in 1994 with the aim of studying the changing state of England's archaeological resource.  It's main purpose was to provide a systematic quantification of the resource and set benchmarks for the monitoring of future change.  The results of the work were published in June of 1998.
